Practice Monday 7:30 am -

Our First practice will be Monday August 10 at 7:30 am - 9:00 am . We will meet in the Aux gym (Mask Up!and bring your own water bottle)and move outside for practice. FILL OUT YOUR PAPERWORK ON SKYWARD AND BRING YOUR PHYSICAL TO PRACTICE(incoming freshmen already have a physical on file) If for some reason you can not attend practice, please let Coach Schmitt know and fill out the paperwork as soon as possible. Practice for Tuesday the 11th through Thursday the 13th will be at 3:30- 5:30pm meeting on the track. Friday is TBA. Once school starts Practice will be either 3:30-5:30 or 3:30 -6pm depending on the workout. I know that it will be a challenge to attend practice on days you are not at Boylan for school. But as a Cross Country Family we will try to work on car pools and other solutions to help everyone out. If you know of athletes who are in other Fall Sports that are delayed until spring, let them know they are welcome to join us. We have all levels of fitness participating. It is a great way to keep in shape and have the camaraderie of a team with a common goal.

To promote a healthy environment it is important that each athlete follow a good health routine and adhere to appropriate mask wearing and social distancing practices. These are some of the practice protocols that will be in place.

    1. Temperature and heath checks will be taken at the beginning of practice on non school days. Hand Sanatizer will be available.

    2. Masks will be worn(covering nose and mouth) for all warm up and core exercises. This includes before and after practices while athletes are socializing.

    3. Masks will be optional during outdoor running activities, social distancing will be encouraged. Athletes will have to self monitor while they are out on runs.

    4. We will send out our athletes on road runs in waves to minimize running group sizes and to allow for more distance between groups of athletes. Practice on campus will be in small groups and socially distant from other groups.

    5. We will attempt to keep consistant our small groups for warm ups and cool downs and try to keep athletes groups of athletes with one coach to minimize the number of people to which each athlete is exposed.

    6. Please err on the side of caution, if you are feeling under the weather, stay home.

    7. As always, attendance at practice is expected. However, there will be no punishment for missing practice as long as GOOD COMMUNICATION ON ABSENCES has occurred.

We are working our hardest to keep everyone happy and healthy. I am sure there are things that will change as time passes. It is our goal to get through this season healthy!
